Food can lift your spirits, help brighten your day or remind you of a special time or place. While away from home, campers and staff look forward to many things including a familiar, healthy and amazing meal. No matter in camp or on a canoe trip, food is an integral part of the camping experience and creating that exceptional experience for campers and staff is within your reach.
The Class
Jordan offers a three hour on-site session for canoe trip, hiking, camp crafts and kitchen staff. In three hours Jordan introduces simple tips and tricks to creating incredible food both in camp and in the outdoors; it’s all about technique.
Using what’s in your pantry combined with a few of Jordan’s ‘must have’ ingredients, your team will transform the regular into the extraordinary.
Cooking over an open fire or in the kitchen, they will create everything from Chocolate Pudding and Apple Crumble to Creamy Polenta and Mushroom Risotto and Breakfast bars and Vegetable Quinoa Chilli and Sushi. Camp food will never be the same.
Tamakwa is fortunate to have James Beard nominated Chef Jordan Wagman up at camp at the start of each summer to inspire and guide our canoe trippers into creating delicious meals over an open fire for our campers to enjoy all summer.
